A learned man he is, but at the same time, he’s not into things like romance-in fact he probably doesn’t see himself a person worthy or capable love, or he probably has that mindset where his time is running out and therefore no happy endings for him. I’m curious as to whether Kaito himself got the reference or not. I’ve heard it referenced in other places-off the top of my head there’s Sayonara Moon Town (one of the Boruto ED songs), Koi to Uso, Koe no Katachi, and Kimetsu no Yaiba? Some day I would like to come up of a list of where this line occurs in other media-but for now CCS Clear Card has made it to the mental list!! But anyways, can anyone be surprised that Akiho feels love for Kaito? I think my only surprise was that Akiho confessed at all, although she did it in a manner that fits her given that Akiho likes reading. I first heard and learned about the line from the anime series Sagrada Reset which gave me new appreciation of that series, and since then, whenever I hear this line in other Japanese media, alarms go off in my head, lol. She says “tsuki ga totemo kirei dakara” but I’m pretty sure her intent was the term that Natsume Soseki coined, which is: 「月が綺麗ですね」’tsuki ga kirei desu ne’ because back then, direct confessions of “I love you” was not a very Japanese thing (it’s not really their aesthetic), so this line came about and it’s synonymous to a confession of love. So like the part where Akiho talks about the moon is beautiful is a reference to Natsume Soseki (Japanese author). THE MOON IS BEAUTIFUL! Okay, I totally geeked out on this part haha. ![]()
